We are the newest buyers at “The Finca” and very excited by the prospect of moving there soon. The current plan (which is always subject to change) is to come down mid August and staying for 2 1/2 months. Will and I will be moving as soon as we can get thing organized here in the Virgin Islands and in Florida.

It has been so good to read your blogs. We are very much looking forward to meeting you!!!

Just a little about us. We are sailors and have sailed up and down the Caribbean islands. We love boats and islands. We have lived on an island or on a boat since we met. Will has been involved with constrution as a carreer and is a good carpenter and has lots of construction related skills. We do have a sail boat that we will be bring  down. It is currently in Florida and needs repair from hurricane damage. Working on the sailboat is scheduled for November and December.

Our plan is to build a utilitarian building on the back corner of our lot which will have a metal roof for water collection, one bedroom, bath, small kitchen, and utility room/ workshop.  We hope to complete that during our visit. After that we dream of a “rancho”. We have made tentative arrangements to buy a boat in Bocas town. Hope to be able to find a rental in August.

We will see how it all works out. We look forward to getting to know you through this blog and hopefully in person soon.

Sandy

Hello Sandy and Will….nice that you got your password so soon, and that you are joining us on the island. John and I plan almost the same sort of thing in terms of our next visit…meaning building something to live in while we pland and build our “real”home. Only ours will be more of chicken/goat shed type affair with just the one room, plus a little “toillet” area sectioned off. Ditto on the sloping roof for water collection. My mother was horrified to think we were going to live in a chicken shed but I explained to her that there would be no chickens or goats for awhile yet….just John and I. (I am not sure that relieved any of her worries though) The biggest holdup to John and I being there is selling our house here in the UK (you may have gathered that fromt he blogs) but we too, hope to be there sometime within the next few months. Did you meet anyone else out there when you were visiting? Looking forward to hearing from you..
    Susan
