Screensavers

Hello Colleen…..John and I laughed when we read your bit about  masochistically using a photo as a screensaver….we did the exact same thing.  Recently, I changed the screensaver to a view of the skyline as the sun set from the hotel we stayed at in Bocas…it is much less tortuous than the picture of the lot we want to build on.

Like you, we are hoping that we can get to know our future neighbours and friends a little before we actually meet them.  It is difficult to share the trials and successes of getting there…from afar, but perhaps knowing that there are others to follow…or that have arrived earlier will be going through the same process will help us to build on that community spirit.

You are so lucky to be able to plan to be there in February next year. John and I have just about given up hope of getting there in the early part of “07″, as the real estate market here is not good….and even if we received an offer to buy, it still takes months for transactions to be completed in the UK.  The system is quite different than in North America.

Will you be living in Bocas or on the Island when you get there in February? You mentioned that you had been to Almirante with Luna and Swanny….what did you think of it? We didn’t get anywhere else other than Bocas and wish now that we had better planned our trip so that we could have visited Almirante and David before coming back to the UK.  We knew as soon as we landed in Bocas that we were going to love it there….but it would have been nice to source out the other towns while we had the opportunity. Oh well….life is an adventure and once we do get to Bocas…we no doubt will have to visit David and Almirante anyway.

Which lot have you purchased…and what are you thinking of in terms of dwelling? Nosy, aren’t I? LOL  Swanny indicates that there is a lot of freedom for creativity in this area so John and I are really looking forward to finally deciding on something and getting it built.
